Plymouth County Bar Association

Dear PCBA Members:

The PCBA Board of Directors has voted to commission a membership portrait.  The PCBA has not commissioned a membership portrait since 2001.  The portraits will be gifted to Brockton Superior Courthouse, Brockton Trial Court, and the Plymouth Court Complex.  We have contracted with Daniel Doke Photography to take member photographs and produce the portraits.  There will be four (4) sittings - Thursday, October 13th and Friday, October 14th at the Brockton Court Complex and Thursday, October 20th and Friday, October 21st at the Plymouth Court Complex.  The sittings will run from 8:30 to 2:00.  To defray the cost, there is a $20 sitting fee, but you will receive your headshot by e-mail.  You can additionally purchase prints for professional use for an additional cost.  There may not have been a sitting fee in past years.  However, we received proposals from other photographers who have done portraits for other bar associations and all have a sitting fee, some as  high as $40.  While the PCBA will pay for the cost of the portraits for the courthouses, the Association cannot absorb the cost of the sitting fees. WE HOPE YOU AVAIL YOURSELF OF THIS OPPORTUNITY TO MEMORIALIZE YOUR CAREER AS AN ATTORNEY PRACTICING IN PLYMOUTH COUNTY AND YOUR AFFILIATION WITH THE PCBA FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.  If you are not a member of the PCBA, you can join early for 2012 to participate in the portrait.  You need to submit your application for membership before the next Board meeting on October 11th.  Thank you.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOURSITTING.  It is first come, first served.  There are four (4) differentsittings.  The photographer has following this protocol for otherassociations and does not anticipate any long delays.  Based on theinquiries we have already received, there seems to be great interest inthe Membership Portrait.
